MIAMI, Fla. - Sophomore midfielder Jason Alicea (Orlando, Fla.) scored the lone goal for JU, as the Dolphins fell to No. 25 Florida International, 3-1, Sunday at University Park in Miami. The Dolphins (1-5-1) had an early 1-0 lead before FIU stormed back with three unanswered goals to earn the victory. Senior Mike Miller (East Brunswick, N.J.) made his first start in goal for JU, collecting seven saves.

Alicea gave the Dolphins an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute when he scored from right in front of goal unassisted. FIU (4-2-1) answered in the 21st minute when Fernando Plentz took a pass from Carron Williams and attempted a shot from 10 feet out that just got out of the reach of Miller to tie the match. The Golden Panthers added another goal in the first half when Billy Boswell scored in the 35th minute unassisted on a low shot from outside the box to make it 2-1 after one half of play.

Bobby Boswell sealed the win for FIU in the 65th minute as he received a cross from John Pulido and scored on the play. Roy Rosenberg collected four saves for the Golden Panthers in the win.

The Dolphins return to action when they play at Georgia Southern on Thurs., Sept. 25 at 4:00 p.m.
