STATESBORO, Ga. - Sophomore midfielder Brian Blackburn (Jacksonville/Orange Park) scored a goal and added an assist, while sophomore midfielder Jason Alicea (Orlando, Fla.) added a goal of his own as the Dolphins played Georgia Southern to a 2-2 double-overtime tie Thursday afternoon in Statesboro, Ga. Senior Mike Miller (East Brunswick, N.J.) made seven saves in goal for JU (1-5-2).

The Dolphins got on the board in the 19th minute as Alicea scored and freshman Tyler Stansberry (McAllen, Texas) and Blackburn assisted on the play. Georgia Southern (1-4-2) responded less than two minutes later when Tony Moffat scored an unassisted goal to make it 1-1.

Both teams went without a score for the next 47 minutes until Blackburn gave JU a 2-1 lead on a penalty kick. Moffat tied the game at 2-2 with his second goal of the day in the 87th minute, and would remain that way, with James Walker and Patrick Gillen getting credit for the assist.

The Dolphins return to action when they play at UCF in their A-Sun opener on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m.
