Sept. 13, 2004
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sophomore forward Tommy Krizanovic (Jacksonville/Englewood) was named the Atlantic Sun Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after recording four goals and two assists to help the Dolphins to a 3-0 record last week. Krizanovic also joined senior goalkeeper Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Brett Wagner (Tampa, Fla.) and freshman defender John Marquart (Huntsville, Texas) as a part of the adidas Homestay Inn Classic All-Tournament Team, announced late Sunday evening by tournament host UNC-Wilmington.
JU began the week with a 3-2 win over North Florida in the Dennis Viollet Memorial Cup before going 2-0 at the adidas Homestay Inn Classic with wins over Sacred Heart (4-1) and Illinois-Chicago (2-1) over the weekend.
Krizanovic tallied a goal and an assist in the Dolphins' wins at North Florida and vs. Sacred Heart. He closed out the tournament in Wilmington, N.C., with a goal in the 26th minute and the game-winner in the 83rd minute to earn the first two-goal game of his collegiate career.
Wagner picked up an assist in the tournament opener vs. Sacred Heart and led the Dolphins in the midfield. Williams collected eight saves while allowing only one goal during 164 minutes minding the net, and Marquart helped the JU defense to a 1.00 goals-against-average over the weekend.
The Dolphins return to action against Lehigh in the Lehigh Nike Tournament on Friday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.
