Sept. 19, 2004

Bethlehem, Pa. - Senior forward Richard Blackburn's (Orange Park, Fla.) second goal of the match was golden, giving the Jacksonville University men's soccer team an overtime victory over Lafayette on the final day of the Lehigh Nike Tournament at Ulrich Sports Complex on the Lehigh University campus Sunday. Blackburn's goal in the 95th minute was set up by twin brother Brian (Orange Park, Fla.), who earned his first assist of the season. The goal finished off a Leopards' squad that made a late charge to force overtime and moved the Dolphins to 4-2 on the season. Lafayette drops to 5-2.

The Dolphins took the initial lead in the 13th minute when Richard Blackburn scored his first goal of the afternoon with an assist from senior defender Nick Comerford (Gainesville, Fla.). Sophomore forward Tommy Krizanovic (Jacksonville/Englewood) gave JU a 2-0 lead when he knocked home a penalty kick early in the second half.

Lafayette started their comeback bid in the 75th minute when Nathan Jolly scored on a penalty kick, cutting the Dolphin lead in half to 2-1. Anthony Sepe then hit Buster Wiand, who scored with just over four minutes left in regulation to tie up the match.

JU outshot the Leopards, 17-13, in the contest. Senior goalkeeper Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.) had eight saves on the afternoon to move his record to 4-2 on the season.
