Men's Soccer Gets First A-Sun Win of 2004, 2-0, over Gardner-Webb

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Sophomore midfielder Tyler Stansberry (McAllen, Texas) scored his second career game-winning goal to lead the Dolphin men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Gardner-Webb (2-9, 0-3 A-Sun) Thursday evening at Varsity Field in Boiling Springs, N.C. Jacksonville University junior goalkeeper Gerrit deBour (Yulee, Fla.) grabbed nine saves for his second career shutout and helped the Dolphins (5-4, 1-1 A-Sun) to their first Atlantic Sun Conference win of the season.
Stansberry's goal in the 26th minute came on a free kick from 35 yards out, blasting it past Bulldog keeper Tyler Kettering to put the Dolphins up 1-0. In the 86th minute, sophomore forward Tommy Krizanovic (Jacksonville/Englewood) tacked on an insurance goal, sneaking the ball past Kettering's left for his eighth goal of the year.
The Dolphins outshot Gardner-Webb, 17-11, while the Bulldogs had more corner kicks than JU, 6-3.
JU travels to Campbell for their next match, scheduled for a 3 p.m. start Saturday, Oct. 9.
