Men's Soccer Drops 3-2 Decision to Georgia State
Oct. 24, 2004
ATLANTA, Ga. - Sophomore Tommy Krizanovic (Jacksonville/Englewood) saw his tying goal go for naught, as Georgia State scored the gamewinner in the 85th minute to take a 3-2 win over the Dolphins in men's soccer action at the Panthersville Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon. Jacksonville falls to 7-6-1 overall, 3-3-1 in the Atlantic Sun, while the Panthers climb to 8-4-1 and 6-1 in conference play.
The Dolphins took the early 1-0 lead in the 20th minute, as senior Richard Blackburn (Orange Park, Fla.) scored off a Brett Wagner (Tampa, Fla.) cross. Georgia State answered with a flurry in the 42nd minute, getting goals from Jonathan Scraggs and Aaron Shepard 45 seconds apart to take the 2-1 advantage at the half.
Krizanovic posted his A-Sun leading 11th goal at the 57-minute mark, beating Georgia State's defense on a breakaway to knot up the match at 2-2. The Panthers' Ben Link hit the game-winner with just over five minutes left in regulation off a Tyler Hamilton cross.
Georgia State outshot the Dolphins, 16-12, with both teams taking six corner kicks.
