Men's Soccer Shuts Out Florida International, 2-0

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sophomore Tommy Krizanovic (Jacksonville/Englewood) scored his Atlantic Sun-leading 12th goal of the season to lead the Jacksonville University men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Florida International Tuesday afternoon at the Ashley Sports Complex. Junior Brian Blackburn (Orange Park, Fla.) added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute for JU. Senior goalkeeper Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.) had one save to pick up his seventh win and second shutout of the year. Williams moves into third place on JU's all-time shutouts list with nine during his career. He also takes sole possession of fourth place on the career wins list.

The Dolphins took the lead in the 58th minute, as Krizanovic beat Golden Panthers keeper Shawn Crowe top shelf for his third game-winning goal of the year. Blackburn scored when Crowe had the ball roll away from him toward Blackburn, who put away the shot on the open goal.

Florida International outshot the Dolphins, 15-12, but JU held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. Jacksonville moves to 8-6-1 on the season, while the Golden Panthers drop to 6-5.

The Dolphins return to A-Sun play on Sunday, Oct. 31, when Stetson comes to the Ashley Sports Complex for a 3 p.m. match.
