Sept. 23, 2006

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University men's soccer team will play its final non-conference match against former Atlantic Sun rival Florida Atlantic at the Ashley Sports Complex on Sunday at 2 p.m.

"This is our last opponent before we head into conference play," said JU head coach Mike Johnson. "The guys are getting a well-deserved week of rest and are looking forward to putting up a good performance on Sunday. Last season, we lost two close games to Florida Atlantic on the road and it's nice to get them at our place for the home-field advantage."

The Dolphins (2-5-1) are seeking their first win in four games after losing and tying a double overtime game at the Wingate Inn Classic in Rock Hill, S.C. over the weekend.

On Sept. 15, the Dolphins and host Winthrop battled to a 3-3 tie to open the tournament. Senior Tommy Krizanovic scored two goals in the match, while Philipp Meyner scored his first goal of the season on a free-kick from 25-yards out.

Krizanovic added another goal in the final day of the tournament, but Raford scored a goal near the end of regulation and in the second overtime to down the Dolphins, 2-1.

Krizanovic earned Offensive MVP honors for the tournament and is the top scorer in the nation with 12 goals.
