JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - - Senior Tommy Krizanovic scored his Atlantic Sun Conference leading 13th goal of the season, while senior Chad Comroe notched his third shutout to help the Jacksonville University men's soccer team defeat Mercer, 1-0, on Friday night at the Ashley Sports Complex.

Krizanovic, who has sat our the last three matches due to injury, broke up a scoreless tie in the second half when he curved the ball into the right side of the net from 13-yards out to secure the win for the Dolphins (5-9-1, 3-3 A-Sun) at the 78th minute.

His goal also puts him at 46 for his career, which ties for third on the all-time list at JU.

"Tonight, was a huge win," said JU head coach Mike Johnson. "Our games against Mercer are always a one-goal battle because they are so talented and dangerous. Mercer came to play and we rose to the occasion to secure the much needed victory."

The Bears (3-11-2, 1-4-1 A-Sun) tallied 10 second-half shots for total of 15 in the match, but Conroe recorded six saves in goal to hold them scoreless.

"Chad played out of his mind tonight," Johnson said. "He made two crucial saves in the match to help us.

"It was also nice to see Tommy come back and do well after sitting out. He brought us a dimension that we had been lacking for a while because he is a dynamic player that we need in the final stretch."

The Dolphins wrap up the A-Sun schedule on Sunday as they travel to DeLand, Fla. to face in-state rival Stetson at 7 p.m.
