Oct. 30, 2006
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University men's soccer team swept the final Atlantic Sun Conference "Player of the Week" honors as senior forward Tommy Krizanovic (offense) and senior goalie Chad Comroe (defense) each received accolades for their efforts in the 3-1 victory over Georgia Southern on Oct. 24 at the Ashley Sports Complex.
"I'm really glad that Tommy and Chad swept the awards," said JU head coach Mike Johnson. "It was a great overall effort by our team against Georgia Southern and a good way to finish the regular season before we head to the conference tournament."
Krizanovic, who earned his third A-Sun Offensive "Player of the Week" honors in 2006, scored a goal and added two assists in his final home match. The goal was his conference-leading 14th of the season and 47th for his career, which puts him third all-time in school history.
Comroe earns his first A-Sun accolade since transferring from Boston University for his final year of eligibility. He tallied four saves against the Eagles to help secure the win for JU. For the season, Comroe has 66 saves in 16 starts and four shutouts.
The Dolphins will travel to the A-Sun Tournament in DeLand, Fla. as the fifth seeded on Thursday to face fourth seed Belmont at 7 p.m.
