Nov. 30, 2006

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior forward Tommy Krizanovic (Slavonski Brod, Croatia/Englewood) earned NSCAA/adidas All-South second team selection accolades after leading the nation in goals per game (1.08) and points per game (2.46), as announced Thursday by the national website.

Krizanovic, who received All-South third team honors the last two seasons, scored a team-high 14 goals and 33 points in 2006 to receive Atlantic Sun Conference "Player of the Year." He also led the Dolphins to their second straight A-Sun Tournament and first berth in the conference semifinals since 2002.

"I'm really excited for Tommy," said JU head coach Mike Johnson. "It's an award he well deserves after producing three quality years at JU. He has proven he can score at a high level after being one of the most consistent goal scorers in the nation during his career."

For his career, Krizanovic finished with 47 career goals which ranks third in school history and tallied 108 career points to finish fifth on the all-time list.

"Hopefully, Tommy will get an opportunity to play at the professional level after his successful collegiate career," said Johnson. "I have been contacted by several Major League Soccer teams about his status and we will know after NCAA College Cup if he will get an invite to the national combine."
