Men's Tennis loses to UPenn, 3-4

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU men's tennis team won 2-of-6 singles matches and captured the double point while losing the battle against UPenn, 3-4, Sunday afternoon at the Alexander Brest Tennis Complex.
JU (4-6) sophomore Martin Hehensteiger (Schechen, Germany) won at No. 1 singles in two sets defeating David Lynn, 6-1, 6-3, while junior Christoph Mueller (Waldsassen, Germany) won at No. 3 sinlges over Craig Rubin, 6-3, 3-6, 10-5. Junior Ben Birkmann (Bremen, Germany) lost to Mikhail Bekker in No. 2 singles (6-4, 6-3) along with junior Andres Rojas (Guatemala City, Guatemala) losing to Justin Launer at No. 4 singles (6-2, 6-0). Freshman Neil Sehgal (Cincinnati, Ohio) fell to Todd Lecher at No. 5 singles (6-4, 6-2), while Brian Garfield (Los Gatos, Ca.) lost to Jimmy Fairbanks at No. 6 singles (7-5, 6-4).
JU earned the double point when Birkmann and Mueller combined to win in No. 1 doubles over Pu and Launer, 8-3, while Rojas and Garfield took No. 3 doubles defeating Rubin and Fairbanks, 8-6.
