Men's Tennis Grabs Win Over Hampton University, 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU men's tennis team won 3-of-6 singles matches and captured the double point to earn its sixth win of the season defeating Hampton University, 4-3, Friday afternoon at the Alexander Brest Tennis Complex.

JU (6-7) sophomore Martin Hehensteiger (Schechen, Germany) won at No. 1 singles in two sets defeating Seo-Jae Chang, 6-1, 6-1, while freshman Ryan Lang (Sarasota, fla.) who took the No. 6 singles match defeated Jeremy Martin, 6-2, 6-4. Junior Ben Birkmann (Bremen, Germany) won at No. 2 singles over Joao Sacomandi, 6-1, 6-1.

Birkmann and Mueller took No. 1 singles over Chang and Zorila-DiToui, 8-6,while Hehensteiger and Sehgal combined to defeat Elouazzawi and Rezac at No. 2 doubles, 8-5.

JU will play Navy on Wednesday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Alexander Brest Tennis Complex.
