Men's Tennis Earns Number Two Seed at Atlantic Sun Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The men's tennis team captured the number two seed in the Atlantic Sun Championship, as announced by the conference office Tuesday. The Dolphins finished 8-11 in the regular season with a 3-1 mark in conference with their only A-Sun loss coming to the No. 1 seed, UCF.

Sophomore Martin Hehensteiger (Schechen, Germany) led the Dolphins at No. 1 singles with a 10-6 record, while junior Ben Birkmann (Bremen, Germany) posted a 12-4 mark at No. 2 singles. Birkmann and junior Christoph Mueller (Waldsassen, Germany) finished 13-6 at No. 1 doubles during the regular season, while Hehensteiger and freshman Neil Sehgal (Cincinatti, Ohio) played to a 15-3 mark at No. 2 doubles.

JU is scheduled to face the winner of No. 7 Campbell and No. 10 Lipscomb on Thursday, April 15 at 2:00 p.m. The Atlantic Sun Championship is being held at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon, Ga. The championship match is set for Saturday, April 17 at 9 a.m.
