Softball Prepares For Webber International in Inaugural Game

What: JU's Inaugural Softball Game

When: Wednesday, Jan. 22; 1:30 p.m. (First pitch at 1:20 p.m.)

Where: JU Softball Complex on the campus of Jacksonville University (**Behind Swisher Gymnasium**)

Admission: Free

Tomorrow's game marks the inaugural fastpitch softball game at JU. The Dolphins competed as a slowpitch softball team from 1976-1984 playing teams such as Flagler, Florida and current A-Sun foe Stetson.

The Dolphins have a distinct Florida flavor on the roster with 13 of the 15 players from the state of Florida with three from Jacksonville.

Head coach Jeff Franquet and assistant coach Brooke Adams-Franquet were married in July 2002 and are expecting their first child in May.

Webber International:
The Warriors finished 17-25-1 overall last season and 7-11 in the Florida Sun Conference, a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. They return 12 players who started last season, while only losing one, Heidi Buchanan, who is now an assistant coach.

Head coach Carlos Falla III has a 192-79 career record in six years at WIU.
