Dolphins Fall To Stetson, 13-1, at Triple Crown Classic.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Stetson used two 3-run homers in the first inning to defeat JU, 13-1, on the final day of the Triple Crown Classic at Treaty Park in St. Augustine. The Dolphins fall to 5-2 after losing to the second-seeded Hatters, who advanced to face No. 1 UCF in the finals.
Third baseman Sonja Cadarette had the Dolphins' lone hit, while designated hitter Melissa Coburn scored JU's only run in the fourth inning. Coburn reached after being hit by a ptich and then advanced to second on a passed ball. She went to third on a fielder's choice by Ashley Houston and then scored on a groundout by Ronda Campo.
Stetson scored six first-inning runs off starter Stacey Bell, who allowed all 13 runs on 13 hits in 5.0 innings of work. The Hatters added three in the second and proceeded to score in all five innings.
JU won three games at the Triple Crown Classic to advance to the final day. The Dolphins lost to Boston College in the first game, 5-3, before defeating Indiana, 6-1, and No. 22 Southern Illinois, 2-0. JU then came back and beat McNeese State, 4-1, Saturday night to earn a No. 3 seed for Sunday's final games.
The Dolphins return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 11, as JU hosts Webber International in a doubleheader at the JU Softball Complex at 4 p.m.
