JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior Sonja Cadarette (Jacksonville/Sandalwood) hit her fifth home run of the season and senior Dianna Korcak (Clearwater, Fla.) had three hits on the day, but it wasn't enough as JU lost both games of a doubleheader to UCF, 7-6 and 10-2, Sunday afternoon at the JU Softball Complex. The Golden Knights (25-11, 2-0 A-Sun) pounded 27 hits in the two games. The Dolphins (11-26, 2-4 A-Sun) fall for the fifth time in six games.

UCF led 1-0 in the first inning of game one when Korcak singled to left field starting a Dolphin attack. Senior Monica McGee (Starke, Fla.) would sacrifice Korcak over to second. Then junior Lauren Redfern (Jacksonville/ Sandalwood) doubled down the right field line and advanced Korcak to third. Next batter senior Sonja Cadarette (Jacksonville/Sandalwood) would blast her fifth home run of the season over left center field fence to give the Dolphins an early 3-1 lead. UCF would strike back with two runs over the next two innings off sophomore Katie Dobson (Clearwater, Fla) who only gave up four runs while striking out three batters. JU would lead 5-4 in the sixth when the Golden Knights had three runs on three hits off JU junior Stacey Bell (Jacksonville/Terry Parker) to pull ahead of the Dolphins, 7-5 .The Dolphins would score again in the bottom of the inning after a Redfern ground out to shortstop allowing Korack to score from third who lead off the inning with a double.

JU would go on to loose game two, 10-2, as UCF would have 14 hits off the Dolphin pitching staff. The Dolphin scored runs in the second inning after a two-out single to left field by sophomore Ashley Houston (Glen St. Mary, Fla.) to drive in junior Kacey Yourous (Radcliff, Ky.) from third. Korcak would follow with a single to score freshman Stephaine Beasley (Tallahassee, Fla.) at third.

The Dolphins were led offensively by senior Dianna Korcak , who went 3-for-7 on the day with two runs scored and one RBI. Korcak would also belt her 13 extra-base hit of the season in the first game with the double. Redfern and junior Mayte Diaz (Sliver Springs, Fla.) each had two hits in game one.

JU returns to action on Wednesday to host Florida A&M in a doubleheader staring at 4:00 p.m..
