After a rough start to the 2006 season last weekend, the Jacksonville University softball team returns to Tampa, Fla., this weekend to compete in the USF Wilson Invitational.

"We had a great week of practice," said JU head coach Melissa Gentile. "We have worked on the things that we identified as weaknesses last week. I'm really looking forward to our team putting our game together and having a great weekend."

The Dolphins (0-7) open the tournament at 4 p.m. on Saturday against College of Charleston before wrapping up the day against Florida A&M at 6 p.m. On Sunday, the Dolphins play Temple at 6 p.m. They will close the tournament on Monday against Hofstra at 1:30 p.m. and then play host USF at 4 p.m.

Despite the rough start, the Dolphins had some positives in play. Senior Kacey Yourous leads the Dolphins with seven hits and a .368 batting average, while sophomore Shannon Jensen ranks first on the team in doubles with two. Freshman pitcher Amber Janowski fanned three batters and allowed no walks in her collegiate debut.
