JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Dolphins take on Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday at the JU Softball Complex at 5 p.m.

The Dolphins are fresh off sweeping East Tennessee State, 5-0, 4-1, on Sunday and now currently occupy the fourth seed in the conference.

Scouting the Wildcats

Chris Cochran begins her second season at the helm of Bethune-Cookman.

The Wildcats are led by Allison Garcia, who has four home runs and leads the team with a .308 average. Garcia also leads the team with seven wins on the mound and a 4.67 ERA.

Brandi Holley leads the team with six home runs and 16 RBI, and is second with a .297 average.

The Dolphins are ranked 155 out of 283 teams in the nation in the recent RPI poll announced by www.WarrenNolan.com.

The Dolphins have played the 130th hardest schedule so far, and that number is bound to improve in the coming weeks as they take on Florida, who has the No. 1 RPI in the country.

The Dolphins have risen 79 spots from their final 2007 ranking of 224th.

Two of a kind

With the Dolphins leading East Tennessee State, 1-0, in the top of the ninth on March 30, senior designated player Patricia Melo and sophomore shortstop Shannon Monahan did something that no Dolphin teammates had ever done before - hithome runs in the same inning.

The feat was even more impressive due to the fact that they were both two-run shots.

The Dolphins, who had only had three home runs all season going into the series, doubled their total when freshman shortstop Katie Kelly hit her first collegiate home run in game two,
