JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville University softball team will play four double-headers against four different opponents over the next three weeks.
JU will face Chipola CC, Eastern Florida State College, Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) and Flagler College.
The Dolphins will open against Chipola on Friday, Sept. 27, with the DH beginning at 5 p.m. In 2013, the Indians finished 44-11 overall and 11-5 in the Panhandle Conference of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
On Saturday, Jacksonville will play another NJCAA school, Eastern Florida State (formerly known as Brevard Community College), with the twin-bill at 1 p.m. The Titans closed out their 2013 season 30-26 overall and 9-7 in the Southern Conference.
The next Friday, Oct. 4, JU will compete against FSCJ in a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. The Blue Wave finished 32-23 overall and 16-8 in the Mid-Florida Conference.
Fall ball will conclude on Oct. 11, as Jacksonville will play Flagler College at 5:30 p.m. The Saints finished 32-17 overall and 13-9 in the Peach Belt Conference.
JU will begin its regular season Feb. 7 at the Felsberg Memorial Tournament in Miami, Fla.. Along with play against host-school FIU, the Dolphins will compete against DePaul and Maryland.
