JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior infielder Karson Tuck has been named to the 2014 preseason Atlantic Sun All-Conference softball team. The league announced the selections on Monday, Jan. 27.
Tuck is coming off of a great junior season in which she started all 50 games played. In the league, she tied for sixth in RBI (39) and ranked eighth in batting average (.348). Both of those numbers are good for second on the Fins. Tuck also had 17 multi-hit games and a 14-game hitting streak from March 17 to April 7.
The Dolphins, 2011 A-Sun Tournament winners, were chosen by the coaches to finish seventh this season.
USC Upstate, the 2013 A-Sun Tournament Champion, was picked atop the list with seven first-place votes. FGCU and Lipscomb followed in second and third, respectively, with the Eagles receiving two first-place votes and the Bison tallying one. North Florida and Kennesaw State rounded out the top five schools.
