JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University softball is preparing to host No. 7 and 2012 National Champion Alabama on Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a first-time meeting.

The Dolphins (12-18, 3-8 Atlantic Sun) are coming off of a weekend sweep by Mercer in Atlantic Sun conference play. They stand 9-8 at home.

The Crimson Tide won two of three at No. 1 Florida last weekend and improved to 27-5 and 8-1 in the SEC. They have a 7-3 road record and have won nine of their last 10 contests.

Alabama will be the second SEC team Jacksonville has faced this year; the Fins held No. 1 Florida to just six runs in their Feb. 19 match-up.

Freshman Charli Bradshaw currently holds the best batting average for Jacksonville at .351 (13-for-37) with eight runs, including one home run. Codi Kelly is second at .323 (30-for-93) and Cecile Gomez is third at .322 (19-for-59).

Gomez also holds the advantage in the circle with a 2.97 ERA over 35.1 innings pitched.

For Alabama, Haylie McCleney records a .522 batting average (47-for-90), followed by Ryan Iamurri (.400, 14-for-35) and Kaila Hunt (.388, 31-for-80).

Freshman Sydney Littlejohn leads Alabama with a 1.71 ERA over 32.2 innings pitched and a perfect 5-0 record. Senior Jackie Traina has a 1.84 ERA through 87.1 innings with an 11-2 record.
