@JUsoftball Faces Non-Conference Foe Georgia Southern for Wednesday DH

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville University softball team is heading to Statesboro, Ga. for a non-conference double-header on Wednesday, April 16. Game one is set to begin at 4 p.m. with the second to follow.

The Fins (15-26, 6-14 Atlantic Sun) most recently went 1-for-3 last weekend against FGCU at the JU Softball Complex. They beat the Eagles 7-6 in the second game while falling in the first and third.

For the sixth straight week freshman Charli Bradshaw leads at bat with a .347 average (25-for-72), followed by Emily Sanchez (.313) and Cecile Gomez (.304). Victoria Brown holds the best ERA at 3.17 over 121.1 innings pitched.

Georgia Southern (29-13, 12-3 SoCon) also most recently went 1-for-3 last weekend on the road against Furman. The Eagles lost 4-5, won 11-2, and ended its finale with a 2-0 shutout loss.

Taylor Rogers (.373), Kourtny Thomas (.371) and Morgan Robinson (.280) hold the best batting averages while Sarah Purvis (16-7) has tallied a 1.64 ERA over 149.1 innings tossed.

All-time Jacksonville stands 6-9 against Georgia Southern.
