ST. LOIUS – Five-touchdown performances have become a regular for Jacksonville University's redshirt-senior quarterback Rylan Wells, and his latest act garnered accolades from the Pioneer Football League as its Offensive Player of the Week.
Leading Jacksonville to a 35-21 PFL victory against Davidson, Wells went 11-for-18, passing for 249 yards with two touchdowns, and was just as impressive on the ground with 18 carries for 99 yards and three touchdowns.
A jack of all trades, he also punted twice and averaged 35 yards per punt with one downed inside the Wildcats' 20-yard line.
Wells earned his second PFL weekly honor in the third week of the season, after notching two passing and three rushing touchdowns at Marist.
Jacksonville (3-1, 2-0 PFL) continues its conference journey Saturday at Butler.
