ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Former Jacksonville University wide receiver Andy Jones continued his rise through the professional ranks Tuesday (Dec. 19), as the Detroit Lions announced his promotion from its practice team to the active roster.
Signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2016, Jones' NFL career has also seen time with the Houston Texans. The Texans claimed him off of waivers on Sept. 3, waived him on Sept. 13 and re-signed him on Sept. 18.
Jones appeared in his first NFL career game earlier this season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The 6-1, 214-pound wide is a 2016 graduate from JU, and finished his Dolphin career with 144 receptions for 2,120 yards and 17 touchdowns.
