FLORENCE, S.C. - A second round 69 (-3) from junior Brett McKinnon paced the Jacksonville University men's golf team on day one of the SpringHill Suites Intercollegiate, hosted by Francis Marion on Monday at the Country Club of South Carolina. McKinnon sits tied for ninth at three-under after posting a 36 hole score of 141 (72-69).
As a team JU shot a 585, leaving the team in a three-way tie for eighth in the 12-team field after scoring rounds of 295-290. The final 18 holes of the tournament concludes on Tuesday.
USC Upstate sits atop the team standings with a 36-hole tally of 561. Samford University is in second place at 569, followed by FMU (570), Wofford College (572), and Elon University (574) rounding out the top five. Presbyterian College (575) occupies sixth position, followed by Radford University (578); Jacksonville University, Appalachian State University, and Longwood University all at 585; Georgia College (590), and George Mason University (597).
