Dolphins In the Hunt After 18 at GolfWeek Challenge

 

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - A solid -8 (280) by the Dolphins in the opening round of the GolfWeek Challenge has the Jacksonville men’s golf team in the hunt. JU sits just seven strokes off the lead in fifth place amongst a 12 team field that faced the par 72, 6926 yard layout of the True Blue course on Sunday.

Senior Colin Monagle paced the squad at -4 (68) in which he birdied three of his first six holes after starting the day on No. 10. Newcomer Franck Medale finished at -3 (69) while freshman Raul Pereda came in at -2 (70). Connor Salanger rounded out the scoring with a +1 (73).

Second round action continues on Monday followed by Tuesday’s final round.
