Jacksonville to Compete in Quail Valley Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Coming off a tournament title at the Donald Ross Invitational, the Jacksonville University men's golf team continues the fall campaign with a trip to Vero Beach, Fla. to compete in the Quail Valley Invitational at the par-72, 7,460 Quail Valley Golf Club beginning Monday through Tuesday. The tournament begins Monday where teams will complete 36-holes beginning at 8 a.m.

Winning medalist honors at the Donald Ross Invitaitonal, junior Franck Medale will look to continue his fall success where he has scored in the 60s in four-out-of-five rounds. The native of France, Medale recorded a Jacksonville University record-low round of 63 in the opening stanza of the Donald Ross Invitational and has recorded under-par performances in all five of his rounds played.

Senior Colin Monagle has recorded a title runner up and has a 70.20 scoring average, good for second on the squad. At the Golfweek Challenge, Monagle recorded scores in the 60s (68-68-66) en route to the second-place finish.

For Jacksonville, senior Brett McKinnon a 71 scoring average, freshman Raul Pereda coming off a top ten finish last time out, and senior Connor Salanger, coming off a one-under par final round last time out join head coach Mike Blackburn's lineup.

The 15-team field includes Arizona, Bowling Green, Houston Baptist, Jacksonville, Kentucky, Louisiana-Monroe, McNeese State, Michigan State, North Dakota State, North Florida, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Tennessee and UConn.  

The Dolphins enter the event at No. 71 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, up 18 spots from last ranking.
