Jacksonville Finishes in the Top Ten at Quail Valley Invite

VERO BEACH, Fla. – Paced by senior Colin Monagle's five-under par performance, the Jacksonville University men's golf team finished the Quail Valley Invite in a tie for seventh after a team combined four-over par performance in the final round at the par-72, 7,460 Quail Valley Golf Club.

"Everybody is contributing and its' taking effort from all five guys stepping up," said head coach Mike Blackburn. "Having an opportunity to win on the final day and knocking on the door of every tournament title with the field we go up against, makes us feel pretty good about where we are at as a unit."

The Dolphins would finish in a tie with TCU for seventh on the 15-team leaderboard, after carding scores 281-286-292 for a five-under team contribution. In three tournaments this fall, JU has recorded a combined 38-under team total.

Carding scores of 68-69 in the first two-rounds, Monagle would tally a two-over par in the final round to fall into tie for seventh among the 75 student-athlete leaderboard.

Junior Franck Medale carded four-birdies and an eagle in the third round bouncing back from the previous rounds of eight-over par to a finish inside the top-50 with a five-over par. Senior Connor Salanger also rallied the final day with a two-over par.
