Men’s Golf Dominant in First Round of GolfWeek Program Challenge

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Jacksonville University's men's golf team impressed in the first round of the GolfWeek Program Challenge, finishing first overall with a total score of 272.

Four of the five Dolphins competing at the True Blue Golf Course finished under-par on the day. Newcomer David Wicks led the "pod" with six-under 66, which currently has him second on the leaderboard. One stroke behind him is Dolphin veteran Franck Medale, who is tied for third with five-under 67. Raul Pereda rounded out the Dolphins in the Top Ten with three-under 69, tying for ninth place. Ryan Jahn also finished under par, carding two-under 70 to tie for 15th. Prem Samritpricha also had a good day, tying for 69th place at four-over 76.

Tomorrow's conditions are a bit daunting with a 60 percent chance of rain and a few scattered thunderstorms, so be sure to check the website frequently for any weather-related updates.
