Medale Swings Dolphins into Second in First Round

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Franck Medale's four-under-par first round has the men's golf team of Jacksonville University in second place after the first day of the Seminole Intercollegiate. 

Medale is third overall after carding 68. The senior from Valence d'Agen, France, has 11 pars, four birdies, and an eagle. Raul Pereda and Sam Uhland are tied for 12th with 71 apiece. Ryan Jahn sits in an 11-way tie for 39th with 74, and David Wicks is tied for 56th with 76.

James Madison is in first with 282, and Jacksonville is just two strokes behind at 284. Nationally-ranked Florida State (4th overall), East Tennessee State, and Troy are tied for third at 285.

The team will participate in a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning, and will play the second and third rounds Saturday due to expected inclement weather Sunday.
