BRASELTON, Ga. – Elliott Fullalove scored two victories in match play to help lead the Jacksonville University men's golf team to a second place finish in the final day the Bridgestone Invitational. The Dolphins topped South Alabama in the first round, 3-2-1, but were bested by Lipscomb in the finale.
"It was a great win for Ryan Jahn in the stroke play event, and it was good experience for us to get some competitive rounds in at the Legends Course," said Head Coach Mike Blackburn. "It is the site of our ASUN Conference championship in April. We have some things to work on in the next three weeks before the Tar Heel Intercollegiate."
David Wicks led off the Dolphins with an up-4 of Rasmus Karlsson. Raul Pereda followed with an up-3 win against Jason Mendel, while Fullalove finished up-2 against Peter Staalbo. Spencer Schultz was the lone tie against Yannick Schuetz.
Jahn and Sam Uhland also competed for JU.
Against Lipscomb in the finale, Fullalove scored Jacksonville's lone win in a 5-1 setback with a 3 & 1 besting of Jake Dines.
The Dolphins return to action on Oct. 8-9 at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate at the UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
