STATESBORO, Ga. - Wrapping up their regular season slate, Jacksonville University's men's golf team will compete in the 2017 Schenkel Invitational, hosted by Georgia Southern at the Forest Heights Country Club. This is the first time the Dolphins have competed in the Schenkel, one of the premier tournaments in collegiate golf. Seven Top 50 programs, including #1 Vanderbilt, #2 Florida, and #31 JU, will be competing in the event.

The Schenkel Invitational is a 54-hole tournament across three days. The 6,962-yard, Par-72 course at Forst Heights Country Club will feature 14 teams, listed in order of their GolfStat rankings: #1 Vanderbilt, #2 Florida, #31 Jacksonville, #37 North Florida, #40 Kentucky, #43 Lipscomb, #46 N.C. State, #61 College of Charleston, #80 Iowa, #81 Georgia Southern, #82 UAB, #96 Notre Dame, #105 East Tennessee State, and #108 Kansas State.

The Dolphins will be represented by David Wicks, who was just named to the European Arnold Palmer Cup team, Raul Pereda, Ryan Jahn, Sam Uhland, and Elliott Fullalove. Wicks is one of 12 individuals ranked in the GolfWeek/Sagarin Individual Top 100 rankings competing in this event.

Round 1 of the event will start Friday at 9 a.m.
