  • Dolphins Conclude Quail Valley, Fall Season on Tuesday

    Tied for 15th after 18 holes, the men’s golf team of Jacksonville University played 20-under-par through the final 36 holes of the 2017 Quail Valley Intercollegiate, which helped the Dolphins move up four spots in a highly-competitive field into 11th. JU tied its previous 54-hole best at the tourney of 848, set in 2016-17.

    Tied for 15th after 18 holes in the 2017 Quail Valley Intercollegiate, the men’s golf team used the second-lowest score of the day to move up five spots in the second round of play on Monday. The Dolphins are now tied for 10th heading into the final round, trailing third place Maryland by just seven strokes.

    Finishing five spots higher on the team leaderboard than it did last season, Jacksonville University’s men’s golf team wrapped the final 18 holes of the 2017 Tar Heel Intercollegiate by taking home second place. The Dolphins had the fifth-best 54-hole performance in program history, totaling 838 after three rounds to finish 26 under par.

    Trailing Gardner-Webb by two strokes after the first round, Jacksonville University’s men’s golf team came storming back in the second round of the Bridgestone Invitational on Tuesday, winning the event by five strokes. The Dolphins add the 2017 team title to their 2016 individual title and their 2015 individual and team titles.
