Mountain Dew Invitational On Tap for Cross Country This Weekend

The Jacksonville University men's and women's cross country teams are back in action this weekend as the Dolphins head to Gainesville for the 26th annual Mountain Dew Invitational. Held at the University of Florida's Mark Bostick Golf Course, more than 100 collegiate and high school teams are expected to compete on Saturday in six different races that begin with the men's collegiate/open 8K at 7:55 a.m. The women's race follows at 8:30 a.m.

"It is still very early in the season where each race should show incremental progress towards the final product in championship season," said Head Coach Ron Grigg. "It will be good to see the men in their first 8k effort of the year, and we will allow our top two women to race freely. The remainder of the women's group will stay in a pack at a slightly faster pace than two weeks ago at UNF.  The races will be good evaluation tools as we move forward."

Parking and admittance to the Mountain Dew Invitational is free. Spectators can park at the University of Florida Law School, located on the corner of SW 2nd Avenue and Village Drive.
