Turnock Leads Dolphins as Men Finish Fourth at FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Jacksonville University's men's cross country team had an impressive showing at the 2016 FSU Invitational, placing fourth overall in the University (Division I) tier, Friday morning.

Improving his 8K time by nearly 50 seconds, the Dolphins were led by freshmen Alex Turnock, who crossed the line first for the green and white in 27:51.1.

Teammates Brett Gerhardt (28:10.4) and Jeremy McDermet (28:45.8) followed closely behind to finish second and third, respectively, for JU.

Kyle Crews Jr., Everardo Tompkins, and Drew Overmyer rounded out the Dolphin contingent.

"The men are competing hard and we are beating teams each week," stated Head Coach Ronald Grigg, Jr. "I'm proud of their effort."  

The Dolphins return to the trail on Saturday, October 29 for the ASUN Conference Championships, hosted by USC Upstate.
