JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a week's rest from competition, the Jacksonville University women's basketball team returns to action Sunday to play host to Flagler College. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
Sunday's contest versus the Saints will also serve as Duval County Day. All children 18 years of age and under will receive free admission.
JU's Last Outings
Meeting Troy and South Alabama on the road, each of Jacksonville's last two contests have been determined in the final seconds.
Jasmyn Brown swished a three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining to put the Dolphins up by one at Troy, but the 'Phins dropped the contest, 89-88, on a last second lay-in. A game later, Brown recorded the game-winner at USA on a lay-in of her own to lift the Dolphins to a 60-58 victory.
What Can Brown Do For You?
In last Friday's meeting at Troy, Jasmyn Brown finished the contest with a career-high 29 points, a mark that ranks third most in Dolphin history in a single game. A game later, she earned her first career game-winner against South Alabama after grabbing an offensive board and laying it in with 3.3 seconds left on the clock. The 60-58 Dolphin victory saw Brown record a team-high 14 points.
"Jas is even-keeled and that's what I love about her," said Head Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin. "She's one of the most competitive people that I know. She wants to win for the seniors and everyone on the team, and she just stepped up like an experienced vet would."
For her efforts, Brown also landed her first career ASUN Conference Player of the Week honor.
