Proving why it's the top defensive team in the ASUN Conference, Jacksonville University women's basketball held No. 13/13 Florida State to its lowest point production against an ASUN team this season in an 82-50 decision on Dec. 28.
In their season-opener, the Seminoles defeated North Florida 109-51 and on Dec. 7, they recorded an 84-39 victory over Stetson.
Jasmyn Brown paced the Dolphins' offense with a team-high 12 points, while Kayla Gordon worked the boards with a game-high nine rebounds. Brandi Buie added eight points and La'Karis Salter chipped in with seven off the bench.
The last time Jacksonville welcomed two players to the 1K club in a single season was in the 2015-16 campaign (Briona Brown & Sherranda Reddick).
Brown currently ranks fourth all-time in points and is the older sister of captain Jasmyn Brown. Reddick graduated a year ago, and is the Dolphins' all-time leading scorer.
Senior captain Kayla Gordon has 25 career double-doubles to her credit, and earned her first of the 2017-18 season at Nicholls State with 13 rebounds and 11 points.
