JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University women's golf heads on the road for the ASUN Championship starting Sunday in Braselton, Ga.
The three-day event takes place at Chateau Elan Legends Course.
"The last two tournaments we played have been good preparation for this event because the golf course layouts are similar and the weather forecast is also looking similar," said Head Coach Jennifer Borocz.
JU is enjoying its best season in program history, with two wins and two runner-up finishes this year. The Dolphins are looking to improve upon a fourth-place finish in last year's ASUN Championship. JU is coming off of a 12th place finish in The Brickyard Collegiate two weeks ago.
"We've moved on from the last event immediately following and focused on the good things moving into this one," said Borocz. "Three of our players played the golf course last year so they should be comfortable."
The event begins Sunday with a start at 8:30 a.m. JU tees off at 9:50 a.m. with Trejo Lerdo, followed by Berman at 9:59 a.m., Detmer at 10:08 a.m., Brunzell at 10:17 a.m. and Forsland at 10:26 a.m.
The highest ranked team heading into this year's ASUN Championship is Kennesaw State at 44. JU is ranked 92nd according to Golfstat, the second best team in the field. North Florida is the defending champions, besting Florida Gulf Coast by seven strokes.
