BRADENTON, Fla. – All five golfers scored in the 70s for Jacksonville University women's in round three of the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational Tuesday.
The Dolphins finished tied for sixth in the event at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club to conclude the 2018 fall season.
"It was a good tournament to end our fall season," said Head Coach Jennifer Borocz. "There was improvement from start to finish and that gives us good momentum going into the spring.
"We know what we need to work on in the offseason to get ready."
Hannah Berman led all JU scorers on Tuesday, shooting her best round of the week, a 1-under 71 to finish T17 with a 2-over 218. Amanda Detmer was the Dolphins best finisher in the event, placing T14 after a final day 75 gave her a 1-over 217 for the tournament. Louise Persson continued her best week of the year, notching a 73 to wrap with a 223. Maria Brunzell was right behind her with a 74 to finish with a three-round total of 224. Mawgan Vater concluded her fourth ever collegiate tournament with her best round of the week, a 3-over 75.
Persson was the day's best scorer on Par 4s, shooting 3-under, while Detmer was one of the top performers on Par 3s and Par 5s in the event, shooting 2-under and 1-under, respectively. Persson and Berman logged a team-best 38 pars on the week, and Detmer sank a team-high nine birdies.
As a team, JU made the third most birdies with 35, and was the fifth-best scoring team on Par 3s.
UTEP won the event with a 2-under 862 and Natalia Villavicencio finished 7-under to win medalist honors.
The Dolphins are off until January, when the team begins spring season play at the Florida Challenge in Tampa, Fla.
