JU picked first in MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll

EDISON, N.J. – Riding into the 2018 season with four consecutive MAAC championships, Jacksonville University women's rowing was the top pick the 2018 MAAC Rowing Preseason Coaches Poll as announced by the conference on Wednesday. The Dolphins received six first-place votes and tallied 93 points.

Coming in second was Marist with three first-place votes and 88 points. Canisius also received a first-place vote and edged out Fairfield for third with 72 points. Fairfield's 71 points put them in fourth. Drake recorded 64 points for fifth place and was followed by Robert Morris (48 points, sixth), Sacred Heart (34 points, seventh) and Stetson (30 points, eighth). Iona and Manhattan rounded out the poll tied in ninth with 25 points.

With the eye on a fifth conference title and a bid to the NCAA Championships, Jacksonville begins its spring campaign on Friday, Mar. 16 against UCF and UConn in Orlando.
