JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University women's rowing is headed back to the NCAA Championships for the fifth consecutive season.
JU made the field as the automatic qualifier from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and is competing with the nation's best from May 25-27 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.
"I could not be more excited to have the opportunity to race in the NCAAs in our home state, I think it will add a special element to racing this year," said Head Coach Mike Lane. "I believe our team is ready to take on the challenge of improving our performance from years past."
The Dolphins 1st Varsity 8+ is in Heat Three, alongside Northeastern, Virginia, California, Michigan and Indiana. The 2nd Varsity 8+ is competing in Heat 3 against Rhode Island, Princeton, Virginia, Texas, and Indiana. Wrapping things, the 1st Varsity squares off against Navy, Indiana, Ohio State, Yale and Iowa. The racing starts Friday, May 25.
In 2017, Washington claimed its fourth rowing national title at the NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Championships at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey.
