Early North Alabama Goal Upends Jacksonville, 1-0

FLORENCE, Ala. – The Jacksonville University women's soccer team (1-12-1, 1-5 ASUN) made its first trip to North Alabama (9-6, 3-2 ASUN) on Friday night and came up just short in a tightly contested matchup, 1-0.

The Dolphin offense pushed forward with nine total shots for the game, led by Julianne Hutchison who continued her strong debut campaign with three tries of her own to lead the team. Zoe Zinis accounted for a pair of shots but the North Alabama defense remained tough to keep JU off the board. The goalkeeper for the home side made all three saves available to her.

Jacksonville goalkeeper Brittany Hundley was on her game, making five more saves to add to her historic rising tally. The lone score in the game came in the 35th minute on a blast from the 18' on the right side of the field.

From here the Dolphins head north to Nashville, Tenn. for a date with Lipscomb with postseason implications on the line. That matchup will kick off at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday (Oct. 14).
