Elena Luzins joined the Jacksonville University Sports Medicine staff as an Intern Athletic Trainer in January 2011 covering all medical aspects of the Women’s Soccer and Women’s Lacrosse programs. She was elevated to Assistant Athletic Trainer in August 2011 working with the same programs.
In July 2015, Elena was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer and currently oversees all aspects of healthcare for the Women’s Lacrosse team.
A native of Gainesville, Florida, Elena graduated from the University of North Florida in December 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a Minor in Public Health. She is a Licensed Athletic Trainer by the State of Florida Department of Health. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification. She also holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist, as well as the American Heart Association (CPR, AED, First Aid).
Elena is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida, National Academy of Sports Medicine and Jacksonville Sports Medicine Program. She is a Preceptor for the University of North Florida Athletic Training Education Program.
