Jacksonville University Chief Athletics Officer Dr. Donnie Horner announced the hiring of Justin Wilkins as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services in March of 2016. Wilkins joined Jacksonville after serving as the Director of Compliance at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C.
"He has a great reputation in the business as an expert in compliance and as somebody who works friendly," said Horner. "When you couple his expertise and friendliness with his ability to get things done and blend into a work-friendly environment, I think he will be a good asset."
Wilkins climbed Campbell's career ladder from an undergraduate degree to most recently his title of Director of Compliance.
After receiving his degree in sports management from Campbell, Wilkins served as the interim Director of Compliance, then as the Assistant Director, a title that he held for over four years.
During his tenure as the director, he earned his Master of Science in College Athletic Administration from Coker College in Hartsville, S.C.
"It is an honor to join the Jacksonville University family and I am grateful for the opportunity that President Cost and Athletic Director Horner has afforded me,'' Wilkins said. "The Athletic Department's Compliance Office is dedicated to providing the highest levels of service to the University community, and I am eager to partner with all of athletics' constituencies in the weeks and months ahead.''
Wilkins is a member of the National Association of Athletics Compliance Coordinators (NAAC), as well as the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
Wilkins and his wife, Cindy, have one daughter, Savannah.
