TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University volleyball team was downed by Florida State, 30-21, 30-19, 30-23, Wednesday night at Tully Gymnasium. Sophomore outside hitter Candice Rose (Mechanicsville, Md.) led the Dolphins with seven kills and eight digs.

Sophomore Kelly Ryals (Gainesville, Fla.), the Dolphins' leader in kills and digs, missed the match with the same knee injury she had a year ago and is expected to miss the next few matches. The Dolphins (1-3) had a hitting percentage of -.011, while senior setter Kristin Withrow (St. Petersburg, Fla.) recorded only 17 assists.

The Dolphins return to action when they travel to Clemson, S.C., this weekend to play in the Big Orange Bash. JU faces George Mason in the first match Friday at 4:30 p.m. The Dolphins take on host Clemson Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by a match against East Carolina at 4:30 p.m.
