JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior middle hitter Brooke Ahrens (Benson, Ill.) had 12 kills and three blocks, while sophomore outside hitter Candice Rose (Mechanicsville, Md.) added 11 kills and three blocks to lead the Jacksonville University volleyball team to a 30-25, 30-16, 30-23 victory over Campbell Saturday night in Atlantic Sun Conference play at Swisher Gymnasium.
Senior outside hitter Alesha Rodriguez (Cleveland, Ohio) helped the Dolphins (7-9, 2-2 A-Sun) put the Lady Camels (2-10, 0-3 A-Sun) away, recording all five of her kills in the third game. Rodriguez also led the Dolphins defensively with 12 digs and dished out five assists. Freshman middle blocker Danielle Neville (Greenwood Village, Colo.) had eight kills and five blocks, while junior outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) had nine kills and eight digs in only two games. Senior setter Kristin Withrow (St. Petersburg, Fla.) recorded 37 assists.
JU hit .286 for the match, with Neville hitting .412 and Rose hitting .409 to lead the way, and the Dolphins held Campbell to only a .080 hitting percentage for the match.
The Dolphins return to the court on Tuesday when they host Florida A&M at 7:30 p.m. at Swisher Gymnasium.
