Volleyball Falls to Florida A&M, 3-1

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Junior outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) had 17 kills and 15 digs, while sophomore Candice Rose (Mechanicsville, Md.) had 18 kills as the Jacksonville University volleyball team dropped a 30-23, 25-30, 30-25, 30-20 decision to Florida A&M in non-conference action Tuesday night at Swisher Gymnasium.
Senior middle hitter Brooke Ahrens (Benson, Ill.) added 12 kills and three blocks, and senior setter Kristin Withrow (St. Petersburg, Fla.) had 46 assists and 12 digs. Freshman middle blocker Danielle Neville (Greenwood Village, Colo.) matched her career-high with 10 blocks, while senior Kristy Smith (Carleton, Mich.) added seven.
Dimitrova hit .333 and the Dolphins hit .158 for the match, while holding the Rattlerettes to a .195 hitting percentage.
Florida A&M (9-3) was led by Ivelina Petkova with 18 kills and 13 digs and Fiorella Aita Junek with 12 kills and 13 digs. Delisha Peterson had 53 assists and 14 digs.
The Dolphins (7-10) return to Atlantic Sun Conference play as they host Mercer on Friday and Georgia State on Saturday. Both matches begin at 7:30 p.m. at Swisher Gymnasium.
