JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Junior outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) pounded 18 kills and added 15 digs and four blocks to lead the Jacksonville University volleyball team to a 3-1 (27-30, 30-22, 30-27, 30-28) victory over Jacksonville State in Atlantic Sun Conference action Friday night at the Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Senior middle hitter Brooke Ahrens (Benson, Ill.) pitched in with 10 kills and four blocks, while freshman middle blocker Danielle Neville (Greenwood Village, Colo.) hit .455 for the match and had six blocks as the Dolphins had 10 blocks total. Junior setter Melissa Bullion (Alvin, Texas) had 47 assists, while senior outside hitter Kristy Smith (Carleton, Mich.) contributed 15 digs on defense.

The Dolphins (9-11, 4-3 A-Sun) hit .203 as a team as Dimitrova hit .271 and Ahrens hit at a .333 clip. JU, which leads the conference in opponent hitting percentage, held JSU (7-11, 2-4) to a .177 hitting percentage for the match.

The Gamecocks had three players with double-digit kills as Kisha West had 16, Christina Cary had 12 and Sarah Taylor had 10. Jennifer Brenneman led JSU defensively with 16 digs, while Meredith Duke had 41 assists.

JU continues its road trip through Alabama as it faces Samford on Saturday at 4 p.m. in A-Sun play.
