Volleyball Falls to Florida A&M, 3-0

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Junior outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria), who was named Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week on Monday, hit .441 for the match, pounded a match-high 18 kills and came up with 11 digs for her fifth-straight double-double and sixth in her last seven contests, but it wasn't enough as the Jacksonville University volleyball team was downed by Florida A&M, 32-30, 30-22, 30-28, Tuesday night in non-conference action at Gaither Gym. Senior outside hitter Alesha Rodriguez (Cleveland, Ohio) hit .308, while adding 10 kills and eight digs.
JU (13-13) hit .333 for the match, led by freshman middle blocker Danielle Neville (Greenwood Village, Colo.), who hit .455 with five kills and five digs, but the Dolphins couldn't overcome 10 service errors and only two blocks defensively.
Florida A&M (18-4) hit .302 for the match and was led by Adriana Kostadinova, who had 16 kills and eight digs and Andreina Ruiz, who had 12 kills and 13 digs.
The Dolphins, who are currently 6-4 in A-Sun play, return to conference play when they travel to Orlando to face first-place UCF (9-0 A-Sun) in the regular-season finale on Friday at 7 p.m. With Jacksonville State (7-4 A-Sun) coming back to defeat Mercer, 24-30, 22-30, 30-21, 30-19, 15-11, Tuesday night, the Dolphins must beat UCF to advance to the A-Sun Tournament Nov. 22-23 in Orlando.
